4.1.1.232071203 version and big delay when playing from midi keyboard, need help!
Hi!
Decided to try MuseScore and it produces big delay between key is pressed and sound is heared, delay is so big that it makes impossible to play from midi keyboard, other DAWs I'm using never had such issues with current hardware and drivers.
I installed ASIO4All but that didn't help. Any Ideas how to improve latency? Thanks!
In MuseScore Preferences 1024 is minimum value for buffer size.
Audio interface has those settings by default.

MuseScore was never designed for real-time performance. best to simply use a program that is designed for performance, and use MuseScore for what it was designed for - music notation.

It's not about normal vs good performance it's about not being play at all, pushing each midi key every second to not fall into gap is pretty much not being play, I don't understand but ok, whatever, thanks for reply.

And what I’m saying is MuseSvore simply isn’t designed to let you “play” your keyboard. It is music notation software, not a real-time performance synthesizer. So when want to play your keyboard, use its built-in sounds, or software designed for real-time performance. Then when you want to notate music - or listen to the playback of previously-notated - use MuseScore.

It works in version 3.6 and version 3.7

Not very well there either, although indeed, somewhat better than MU4. Again, it’s just not designed for this. A toaster can be used as a hammer in a pinch, and some models might work better for that than others, but far better to just use a hammer than worry about which model of toaster works better for a purpose it was never designed for.

If your only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail ;-)
