How do you add triplets?

• Dec 2, 2023 - 23:12

I am at a complete loss here. I see 128th notes to "Longa". If I go to "Notes", "Tuplets", I can choose "Triplet", but when I go to try to put a note on the staff it doesn't show up as a triplet.

Also, as a side thing, I am trying to do drum parts. So, I don't need to worry about key signatures or even time signatures at this point. All I am trying to do is lay down some rhythms, and immediately triplet patterns. Is there a different staff for percussion/drums or is the usual staff (treble/clef) the only one we have to work with?

Thank you for helping me on this. I was able to insert triplets, but I think I may need to invest in an electronic drum kit so I can insert the notes easier. Mouse clicking through all the options is going to be an extremely daunting task, LOL. I see one video for adding an electronic keyboard with MIDI, and it says you have to keep assigning the note values for each note. Does MuseScore allow you to just play and record in real time to a metronome? Or, is the solution to get an electronic device that will somehow save to midi and then transfer midi file to MuseScore for editing?
