Step-through playback
Hi
I wish to check my vertical string voicings **** one payback step at a time *** i.e. for each new passing note - activated, for example, by my right arrow cursor key (sort of like the jog wheel in video editing I believe). I believe this to be an a critical missing aspect of musescore.
I believe this feature would take musescore to the next level.

Might just be possible with a plugin using cmd("play") and calculating the timing according to the duration between segment ticks. Would a chord count as a single step since all notes play at (almost) the same time?

Hi - Yes, a chord would count as a single step. I think setting the tempo to 0 will help.

There was a similar feature request made in this 2019 post and the discussion proposed using arrows or the mouse cursor to move along the measures
