Cmd+Shift+Q on Mac OS 13
The shortcut in MS4 for Past Half Duration is Cmd+Shift+Q however, this is also the global system shortcut for log off user in Mac OS. Every time I try to use this MuseScore shortcut my Mac tries to log me out instead. Unfortunately, as this is a Mac system shortcut it can't be disabled. I have eventually managed to find a workaround but wonder if MuseScore could find a way to take priority over the system shortcut or change the key command used in the MS4.

I was experiencing exactly the same issue because https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/copy-and-paste#command-summary says that it's Cmd-Shift-Q on MacOS. It turned out that it's not true, and it's actually Ctrl-Shift-Q, which works fine.

If that is an intentional change (rather one of many bug with shortcuts), we should adjust the handbook

So indeed, the shortcut has been changed to Ctrl+Shift+Q/W (which would in the shortcuts file be written as Meta+Shift+Q/W), to avoid the conflict; and the handbook apparently needs to be updated.

shortcuts_mac.xml has
That "Meta" is, as far as I can tell "Cmd", not "Ctrl", as it also has
And no "Cmd" in the entire file. So if it isn't Cmd+Shift+Q for you, either you changed it or you found a bug...

I didn't change anything myself for sure. I just came across this issue today when I needed to change the duration of notes, so I first found that article, tried with Cmd (which didn't work, as it just tries closing the app instead); then I found this post from the last year, and then accidentally discovered that it works with Ctrl. And, in fact, it's shown in the menu with Ctrl (attaching the screenshot).

Can you locate and attach your shortcuts.xml here?

Sure. I hope it's the right file (~/Library/Application Support/MuseScore/MuseScore4/shortcuts.xml).

Nope, it's a bit different:
Ctrl in the shortcuts file means the Cmd key
Meta in the shortcuts file means the Ctrl key
(this logic comes from Qt; the idea behind this is that it is more "portable")

Thanks for that explanation!
