All of a sudden, when I try to export from 4 (using .mxl), 3 does not recognize the .mxl file as valid ???

In January you posted a score stemming from 3.6.2 and Windows.
That is the latest 3.x (short of using my MuseScore 3.7 Evolution)
When you install MuseScore 4, it'll 'grab' all the extensions, including .mxl, but you'd still be able to use MuseScore3's File > Open

OS is Windows 10
