Hide staff lines
New user, MacBook pro OS Sonoma 14.1. Could not find answer in handbook. Want to create pre-staff notation. How do I hide staff lines after creating a score? Thank you

This is the section of the handbook that deals with hiding staves https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/showing-staves-only-where-needed
However, it is not clear what you are trying to achieve. Can you provide an example, even a hand drawn sketch. There may be a better way to do what you want without hiding things.

I blacked out the lyrics as this is something I previously purchased. The notes rise and fall as is on the staff, but the lines are gone.

no, but thank you.
Perhaps try right-click on a measure in the staff. From the context menu, click Staff/Part properties.... Under Staff properties, at the far right, check Invisible staff lines. Then click Apply. This makes the staff lines invisible for the entirety of the stave. Can't do it for just a few measures.
You may find that it doesn't look like anything has happened. Click View / Show and uncheck Show invisible and you'll see that the staff lines are, in fact, not visible.
