Otpion to have the time signature on-top of the staff (Feature Request)

I would like to have an option to achieve this:

There is no manual workaround for this :

Signature above.gif

My opinion would be that it would be best manage at the style sheet level, with an option by Time Signature to follow the style, to force it above the staves or force it in the staves (same approach with Hide Empty Staves, which is managed at the style sheet level, with on option at the staff-level to force it on or the other way).

What's you thoughts about that ?

PS:
- I'm pretty sure I already saw some discussions about that, whether here on the forum or on GitHub, but I couldn't find it. Anyone aware of such a discussion ?
- the discussion is not about whether this is a good approach or not.
- I already asked on the forum to help for doing this manually, but no one manage to achieve this nicely.

A slightly different way.

I had to use select similar on the same staff to select all the time signatures. Then in Properties turn off Auto place. Drag them to the desired place above the staff. Worked on a score like yours.

I renamed both threads to make it clear which one is about a Feature Request (this thread), and how this feature should work if ever implemented natively. And which one is about existing workarounds (the other thread).

As a new feature:

  • The placement of the time signature (inline (ASIS) or above (feature request)) should be managed at the sylesheet level;

  • With a possible erasure at the time signature level (values: automatic (=follow the behaviour defined in the stylesheet), inline, above.

  • A time signature which placement is above must appear on the top of the first visible staff, and be hidden in all the other staves
  • If a local time signature is applied on a staff, while the general time signature placement is above , keep the local time signature inline ? (TBD)
  • If time signature placement is above , the distances between the bar line and the other objects (notes, accidentals, ...) must follow today's rules as if no time signature was specified in that measure.
  • The time signature must be place centred on and above the bar line.

Any other considerations ?
