Can't open my musescore file after my laptop crashed.
I was working on my musescore file for school before my laptop suddenly crashed out of nowhere and now my musescore file is 'corrupted' and won't open. What's even more annoying is that I literally saved before my laptop crashed so musescore just straight-up overwrote my file with a corruption for no reason. I've tried everything from updating my musescore to turning it into a zip file to unzip it (winrar didn't recognise it as a proper zip file). Do I have to restart or is there a way I can recover my schoolwork?

"!I've tried everything,,,"
Unfortunately, if you try opening it in a hex or text editor, you will see that it is just a file full of zeros (00 00 00 00).

That is incredibly frustrating. I don't know how I'm supposed to trust the software now that I know that my file can just be wiped at any time. Thanks for helping though.

No luck. It's alright, I'll just make sure to create extra back-ups from now on.

You can also make use of the built-in file versioning on uploads to musescore.com
