A repeat sign within a bar is ignored.
When playing a score with a repeat sign within a bar, playing immediately continues with the bar following the repeat sign.

This repeat sign is not functional within a bar. You must first split the bar in menu Tools / Measures / Split bar before note/rest selected.
Then you add the repeat sign.
