Highlighting parts
I need to highlight one or more voice parts in a score for rehearsal purposes. The suggested mehtods, of using text boxes or lines do not work properly for me. Is there, or can there be, a simple way of selecting the whole part then selecting a background colour?

I have tried that method, many times, but it always fails. The text box only appears on one stave, i.e. not on the next stave or page and often the frame/box is created at the wrong part of the score. Then there is the problem of creating a background colour and setting the Alpha cnannel value - none of that is reliable or even accessible at times. There should be a simple way of selecting a part in a score, say using Ctrl+Shift+End to select all the stave of one part, then setting the background colour and transparency. Our choir otherwise has to use lots of highlighter pens!

I’m surprised it doesn’t work for you - maybe it’s a MS4 thing. I followed the simple instructions here: https://musescore.org/en/node/220071 and as suggested saved the modified line in a palette. It is then easy to access whenever required, and apply to any number of selected bars in one operation.

I have tried again, many times, attempting to use Lines or Text Frames. Lines and Frames do not transfer reliably from the palette to the page, and then appear in the wrong position. I can find no way of expanding a line to a rectangle or of then setting the background colour and transparency. This is with MS4 Studio. It would be so much simpler to be able to select a part, which might extend over several systems and several pages, and then use the selection box, shown in blue, as a frame whose properties can then be selected. Amateur singers often have trouble in following parts in complex pieces, particularly when there are page-turns. Try following a single part in "Spem in Alium". It would be much easier if the part were highlighted, in colour if possible.
