Hi! being a freshman linux user I just started using your software today, it is very nice, thank you!
Is it possible to write lowercase minor chords over a root? (eg. f\bbm with the 2nd b being a flat
And how can I squeeze more bars in one system?

Lower case minor are not supported as far as I know. You could do a trick with several text element etc... but it looks ugly :)
You can add less / more stretch to a given measure by selecting it (or more than one) and go to Layout -> Add more/less stretch. Use a line break from the break and jump palette to decide when you want your system to break.
Last thing, if you are on ubuntu, try to use the last version (0.9.6 r3145) instead of the old one delivered with Lucid. See [[nodetitle:Download]]
Just a comment, in my experience the bass note comes after the chord name, e.g. "Bbm/F" not "F/Bbm".

I am trying the text now, there is no flat symbol. I may have to use a different font.

Concerning the way of writing them: it does not really matter for as long as we all use the same convention.
The way you use is fine, we like to read the bass tone first with the harmony after the back(!)slash. And we like to use lower case for cords with a minor 3rd. (to prevent it too be confused with jazz notation)

I found the flat symbol pressing F2
Awsome, this way works better than sibelius imho.
I only can not figure out yet how to make the chord symbols (which I make in "staff text") a bigger size...
I tried:
>style>edit text style>staff> and use the arrows to change the size
>double clicking an element>F2> and use the arrows to change the size
but nothing seems to happen.

For Chord symbols, use "chord name". On my XP system, I simply select the note or rest to attach the chord symbol to and press "Ctrl+k". Te box to add the chord name appears.

If you type "Bbm/F" then MuseScore automatically changes the lowercase "b" to a flat when you go to the next chord.

Actually you don't need to use the capitals, even lower case is converted if it is entered properly.

@ Xavierjazz: yes I am aware of the ctrl+k commant for chords but the problem is it will not allow me to use lower case for minor. That is why I use "staff text" instead for now.
