Lyrics issues: cumbersomeness, and you can't copy them
I really really hate to complain about a program I absolutely love (not because it's free, but because it is BY FAR the best music editing program I've ever used)--at any rate, I write music arrangements for an orchestra, I write everything out in my partiture, and then go to File > Parts to extract the parts into their separate pages.
Here's issue #1: Adding words under the piece of music
1. Add a line break
2. Add a vertical frame
3. Add a horizontal frame in the verticale frame
4. Add a text frame in the horizontal frame
5. Type in text if copy and paste from Word doesn't want to work today
6. Play around with text frame to move words to a particular spot on the page to "look nice"
At any point, there seems to be a problem with right clicking, I'm not sure if it's my computer, my mouse, or the software.
Issue #2:
Having done all that, there's no way to copy everything from one part to another, so I have to do it all again... in my case, 7 times!
And I never line the words up the same unless I spend a lot of time doing that.
Any way to implement a free-floating text frame, and when you copy it and move to another page and hit paste it goes to the same spot?

Do you know about the lyric feature in MuseScore? I don't really understand what you're trying to do here, but that's not how lyrics would normally be entered. Could you post an example?

I think CroAnte describes the process of adding a portion of text separate from the music itself, usually after it, like for instance additional stanzas of a strophic piece.
In fact, it is not the ultimate of user friendliness, but the few times I had to do it, it GOT transferred into separate parts, without having to replicate it by hand for each part; I do not remember the exact steps, though.
IIRC, it was necessary to adjust by hand the position of the text frame in each part, as the page layout was obviously different between the full score and the separate part; I believe this is to be expected.

Yes, you are correct Miwarre. I know about the lyrics feature, but I always put additional verses below the music.
I've never actually added them to the end of the arrangement prior to generating the separate parts, I didn't even think to try that.
Thanks for your input!

Makes sense. I was also a little confused as to why there would be lyrics for every part in an orchestra - I've never seen that before. But I can see that it would be tricky. I'd probably try to use System text if at all possible. Seems that works work OK as a starting point if you wanted it at the bottom of the last page in every part. Then at most you'd have to drag it down to the bottom of the page.
I wonder if the new "footer" feature in 2.0 would be of use here, though?
