Can´t change instruments, no option available in menue

• Mar 27, 2017 - 13:08

Hi,

following these steps:

https://musescore.org/en/handbook/mid-staff-instrument-changes#add-inst…

I don´t see the "change instrument" option in the text menu (via right click). I only see the "normal" properties. Honestly I never saw a "change instrument" option at all. (I changed a text to "instrument change" )

I wonder if musescore, such brillant in many facts lacks behind in "teething troubles" such as "changing sounds in a specific bar"

Why are there "workarrounds" at all, telling me: "create a new instrument, hide bars and tinker it with spacers?"

Honestly I also don´t understand the mixing tool. I only figured out that it´s generally possible editing the all over sound of a score. Not a single voice or instrument nor one of these for only a short period of time.

Maybe there´s some need for catching up. Why can´t I add "distortion" (or a specific mixing effect) like I add piccicato or tremolo? Those things I do understand. I know how to get them started and end them.

Wanting 2 bars of an electric guitar beeing distorted leaves me totally helpless :(

To change an instrument you need to add "Instrument" text not staff text that reads "Change Instrument." This is found in the text palette. You can then right click the text and select change instrument. Using Ziya's method will change the entire line to a new instrument.

Okay,

I must be to dumb for this.

I can´t find it anywhere. Normally I´m adding "text" by pressing ctrl + t. Then I can enter the inspector (F8) and change the kind of text. There I have several otptions of choosing text styles. (tempo, system, line, style etc.) There ´s actually an option "changing instrument" ... Applying this the text moves a bit up and the font size grows larger. So far so good. But what then?

Entering the created text by right clicking I don´t have any specific option referring to the "instrument change"

...

Trying it in an alternate way by adding "text" in the toolbar there are only a few kinds of text (the ones with shortcuts) like "Ctrl + M" , "Ctrl + t", "Ctrl + Shift + t" . "Ctrl + K" and so on ...

Am I dumb or blind or both at the same time?

I don´t get it, sorry.
