Insert (or Delete) early bars corrupts MuseScore2 Notation

• Sep 10, 2017 - 16:01
  1. View sample full score for just 7 instruments. Its developing well—see 1Notation Hairpins.png. (I prefer continuous view.)
  2. Select each part tab. Observe hairpins with dynamic text clearly located both sides for success during playback.
  3. Now Select the first tab “Wind” for Piccolo and Flute parts
  4. Deciding to pen a Wind introduction, insert say 4 bars (= select bar #1, insert x 4).
  5. 2MuseScore2_Scores_Notation_Hairpins Part.png looks fine for the part just edited.
  6. Select full score again (Left tab). Now see corrupted hairpins’ locations. Hairpins do not always stay with their correct bar/s—see 3Notation Hairpins.png and 5MuseScore2_Notation_Hairpins Full score.png. This can apply throughout 120 bars and randomly on any part, losing conformity with the score. Playback fails.
  7. Note also global time signature locations.
  8. View each part tab, observing some hairpins now disassociated from dynamic text locations—see 4MuseScore2_Notation_Hairpins Violin.png for one of my experiences. Focus on bars #28>.
  9. Similar corruptions occur when Delete bars is used similar to above (not illustrated).
  10. Getting snapshots of this was not easy as MuseScore2 sometimes crashes during these edits. MuseScore2 Notation Hairpins.mscz was newly created specifically for demonstrating these bugs. However, the corruptions in other works varied, i.e. the flaws are not consistent—see 6Another Piece.png where the same edits above were applied.

And about the images about Hairpins "Notation hairpins", in this thread, my understanding is that is the consequence to the reported issue: #251356: Insert measure(s) in a part moves key signature and time signature in main score and leads to crash
Not only hairpins but all lines are impacted (maybe other elements)

Eg, steps:

1) New score for Flute and Bb Clarinet
2) Add crescendo lines in measure 2 (Flute and Clarinet)
3) Create parts -> New all -> Ok

4) View Flute part
5) Press "M" -> select first measure -> Insert one or a few measures
6) Return in main score

Result:
