Application will not launch

Hi,

For some reason, my Musescore app has stopped working. I have the latest version 2.1 installed on my Mac OS Sierra 10.12.6 I tried re-downloading the application, but when it begins the install I get a pop-up that says to drag the icon to the applications, but there is no icon.

Are you also on a MAC? What version of MuseScore are you using?

Also, Shoichi's link is not to restarting the computer but restoring MuseScore's state to factory settings. Just so you know, reinstalling MuseScore does not restore factory defaults, it maintains your previous modifications to the program settings. I will reset everything to act like it was installed the first time, so if you changed any defaults in preferences (and a few other places) they will be reset.

"the latest version of MuseScore" would be 2.1. I would guess the answer to downgrading is yes if it can be totally undone, but ill advised. Upgrading to a new OS is (almost) always the best way to go. What does happen with upgrades is that security is upgraded as well. There is something new in your OS that is preventing MuseScore from running. I'm not a MAC user so I don't know what that something might be. There are several MAC users around here and one will no doubt have an idea of how to get you running again.

Hi,

I had two different MuseScore folders from two different versions. After I deleted the new one and had copied the content to the old one I rearranged the options in MuseScore to find the new folder. But at the end, MuseScore crashed and I could not restart it anymore. Even deleting the applications and folders and downloading the installing files the newly installed MuseScore does not start.

And I experienced that I could run the application from the window, which is used for moving the application to the application folder. Having moved it to the application folder the application does not run!!

I have MacOS Siera 10.12.6 on a new MacBookPro
