Add name of instrument
Hi!
I would like to write each instruments name to the left of each "row".
In this score, I would like it to be
Trombone 1
Trombone 2
Trombone 3
Trombone 4
See screenshot.

So you need 4 instruments (with one staff each), but apparently have only 2 (with 2 staves each)

Hi Jojo! Txs for your answer! Yes, I want one instrument per staff. I started by importing a midi file with the four trombones. Cant figure out how to write Trombone 1, 2, 3, 4 on each staff. This is how far I succeeded with this.
And I dont want it to say "Flygelpiano, TROMBONE". Just Trombone 1 :)

Images don't help here, please share the score (mscz) and the midi
Also check right-click on to staff, staff properties, long and short instrument names for any of these 4 staves

From the positioning of the names, it seem there are 4 staves but only 2 are named.

I actually dragged them to this position. But can’t figure out how to write “ Trombone 1” and “Trombone 4” on the other staves :)

You will need to press I to open the instruments dialog. You will notice there are two trombones with two staves each. Unfortunately there is no way to separate staves from an existing instrument. You can then add a trombone under each of the existing trombones that have two staves. Add a trombone and move it up with the arrow in the middle of the dialog. Add another and it will be where you want it. Click OK. You will then need to copy every thing from the second staff the the third staff (one you just added) then copy everything from the fifth staff to the sixth staff (the other one you just added). Next open the Instruments dialog and click the second staff on the first trombone that has two staves and click delete. The click the second staff on the third trombone listed and click delete. This will leave you with 4 independent trombones you can rename as you like. This will also make it easier to have independent dynamic markings on each staff if desired.
https://musescore.org/en/handbook/staff-properties explains how to change instrument names. You probably want to change the long instrument name and the short instrument name.
