Connecting two treble clef staves without the bass

• Apr 26, 2018 - 00:13

Hi still can't find an answer but here is an example. Minus the Bass. Just the Two Treble Clefs to add a descant to a melody line. Anyone know how I can do that?

If you mean connecting them via bar lines, simply double-click a bar line and drag it up or down until it auto-connects to the stave you want.

Your attached score would be based upon the Voice + Piano template in the choral section of the templates when you create a new score.

There's a couple ways I can see a solution.

  1. If your two parts are using something like a piano grand staff, just change the clef in the first measure with the "Clefs" palette.

  2. If you're looking to connect two staves together (such that they use the same instrument name and properties), right click on any measure of the staff you want to split, then select "Split Staff" from the drop-down menu. It will ask for a split point (the default is c4, which creates a grand staff), but don't worry about that. Let it use that point. From there, just repeat the first suggestion.

  3. Just use two different staves and copy the preferences from one staff to the other. This is the most versatile method (and one I use often). It can get a tad messy and imprecise, but it does the job for me.

Hope this helps!
