Measure Distancing
I have a piece where the tuba is right above the drum set. The low notes in the tuba are getting blocked out by the drum set, making it impossible to determine or read anything that's going on when the tuba gets into this lower range. Is there any possible way to increase the vertical distance between measures?

Lyrics are a very different thing, so in order to understand what you mean, it would help if you attached the score you are having trouble with and described the problem in more detail. In general, MuseScore allocates space for lyrics automatically, both horizontally and vertically, although there can certainly be some special case situations where you might need to adjust things to suit the specific needs of your score.

Thanks - I've found a way of doing it - my problem was fitting lyrics on repeats - same tune sung 3 times, requiring 3 different lines of lyrics between the sung stave and the trebl piano stave.
I'll leave all of this up for people in the future getting stuck (I'm completely new to MuseScore, and working everything out for the first time - generally I'm impressed)

Simply use the return key, do not enter as lyrics of Voices 2 and 3
Edit: Attached partial work

That wasn't the problem (for me, it may well be for others), it was getting cramped in the limted space between the staves.
I only used different voices for each verse to allow different melodies.
ETA: OK - yep, that would also work - though I'm unsure if would work well for the different melodies - I'll need to have a play.
Thank you

@Aidan Barry I replaced the attachment above, a small change to the lyrics Voice 3

I think I gotcha - so still using different voices, where the melodies differ, but otherwise, using the return key rather than moving the lyrics to create enough extra space.
Thank you.

Go to Style, click general, then go under where it says page. Then you can edit staff distancing.

Okay - I got my own work around by increasing the space above the treble stave for the piano.
There's obviously a lot of ways around this.

You can enter notes for Voice 1, make them invisible (pressing 'V') and mute them via Inspector.
The lyrics can then be attached to the notes of Voice 1 saving space
