Save Transposed Score

• Sep 19, 2018 - 04:34

I gave the app and I was able to successfully transpose a score I found on there to a more comfortable key, but when I try to save it as a pdf, it goes back to the original key. Please help, I have to perform this piece tomorrow and the pianist needs the sheet music!

I just had exactly the same problem. When I open musescore on my laptop it says I have to use the phone app to transpose. When I use the phone app I manage to transpose but not to save the transposed score to pdf. The link below is no help, couldn't find anything there.

When you open a score on musescore .com website you're indeed being told to use the mobile app to transpose.
But if you open the score in the MuseScore desktop program (available for Windows, Mac and Linux, for free), you can also transpose and even save that change and then export to PDF

I also have this same issue with the iOS app. I transpose the song and then when I export to PDF it is reverted to original key. Sounds like this is a known issue (?)

I don't know that it's an "issue" so much as just not designed to work that work. The iOS app is more about display and playback, not editing. For that, as mentioned above. use the actual MuseScore editor on your computer. Then you can transpose as well as do whatever other edits you want, and export to PDF.

I have the same “issue” too, and for me it is definitely an “issue” as exporting transposed pieces seems to be one of the main reasons why people pay good money for your services. I hope you will include this feature in future versions of the mobile app!! :)

For people who have regular access to a computer, what you say is great. And thank you. But not everyone does.
