Changing the placement of the Lyrics (from above to below)
Using the latest version: OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.0.1.5087, revision: 06a66a2,
I want to change the placement of the lyrics of a particular score (produced with a Mac, see attachment), from above to below, without rewriting the whole of lyrics text again.
I can select the lyrics text from a given staff (rightclick on a text word and use select), even cut it, but fail in copying it to the clipboard. Also copying lyrics to the clipboard, under tools does not show anything on the clipboard. Help and advice much appreciated.

You don't need to use cut and paste at all. Just select the lyrics you want and use the Inspector to change the Placement. Note: normally you should be able to press "X" to flip them, or use the Reset button, but there is a bug where this can hang MsueScore if you do it for too many syllables at once. The Placement field seems more reliable for now.

Tried that, MuseScore went into an infinite loop or hang

For me, setting the Placement field to Below worked OK, just took a couple of seconds. But as mentioned, both "X" and "Reset" caused the hang. This is a known issue - see #281411: Lyrics: select all and "X" causes program to freeze - but it was supposedly fixed for 3.0.1. Still, the issue exists for me there and in a recent build from master as well.
Don't cut and paste. Select a lyric and change it's location in the inspector from "Above" to "Below." If you want ALL lyrics below, then press the black S that will appear to the right of "Below" after you make the change. That will relocate all lyrics on the same line. Repeat for other lines.
If you only want for example verse 2 below and keep verse 1, 3, 4... above, then right click a verse 2 lyric, choose select>more... and limit the selection to verse 2 and change it's location in the inspector. All of verse 2 will move. You can also do this by voice if you are using a closed SATB score and only want to move the Tenors verses to a different location.

Thanks all, the inspector works for me fine, no loops, no problems, thanks a million!
