Thanks for your suggestion Shoichi. I don't think the synthesizer will allow me to adjust the volume of different staves which is what I would like to do. It would be very helpful to create rehearsal tracks for the individual staves of an SATB chorus, emphasizing one the the various staves. The mixer does an excellent job of this with the 'Play' button but the MP3 file created by ''File' ->Export' seem unaffected by the mixer settings. I tried doing as you suggested and the MP3 file still seemed to be an equal mix of all the staves. Maybe I need to make a feature request.
I think you need to use the dynamics or/and try Edit => Preferences => Export: see Audio: un-tick " [ ] Normalize" => Click [ OK ] button. https://musescore.org/en/user/230181

I don't think via Mixer but if you open Synthesizer and 'Save to Score' those settings should be exported into the MP3.

MP3 export should honor Mixer settings and does for me. If you are seeing otherwise, please attach your score and steps to reproduce the problem.
