Start center window is black and empy

• Feb 19, 2019 - 14:23

First of all, I would like to thank all the creators and people involved in creating, translating and supporting MuseScore. I switched from Sibelius about a yer ago and I absolutely love MuseScore (I also think that in many aspects MuseScore is a better program than the mentioned competitor) and version 3 is perfect for my needs.

Few days ago something strange happened. I started MuseScore and noticed that the start centre window is empty (screenshot attached). Not that I need start centre , but... it's weird. The window is now black, both in the dark and in a bright theme.

My MuseScore is in AppImage form (installed), OS is Linux Mint in the recent vesrsion.

Hi Shoichi,
thank you for reply.
I've tried reverting to default settings but it didn't helped.
I've noticed that, the start centre window is not empty, it is just blacked-out (like the content of the window is covered by black layer).

The Flathub version seems to be 3.0.1. I would like to use latest one :)

Just wanted to say that start center window got back to normal after recent system update, so it was not a bug in MuseScore.

Hi,
it still is Mint 19.1 Cinnamon, but I'm always downloading every update available in Mint Update Manager.
I can't tell you which update in which library fixed this issue, but I suspect that start center was fixed after the update that I got few days ago, with which few libraries was downloaded. Among others libqt5 was updated.

I can't be sure but It seems to me that the update to libqt5* 5.9.5+dfsg-0ubuntu2 fixed my issue.
I should emphasize that I was always using the appimage version (it contains qt).
Also I'm not a developer nor Linux-ninja, so I'm not sure if my sugestions are correct, I just hope that it may be useful.
