Tiny icons, can't read them in Musescore 3
I can't use Musescore3 because the icons for the key signature and notes are so tiny I can't read them (my eyes are very good). All suggestions welcome!

Dots Per Inch. It is not in preferences but a command line option. Like `-D 150'.

The icon sizes and text sizes are controlled by a setting in Edit / Preference, the "-D" option controls the overall scaling of things. So between those three settings, you should be able to get what you want.

I guess you can make that command line option part of the shortcut you use to stare MuseScore? You sure can in Windows

I am having the same problem with a fresh install. Unfortunately, none of the documentation suggests what reasonable values might be.
Anyway, it looks like the DPI auto-detection is broken for me. It was detecting something like 20, and it really needs a value from 70-100 (on my screen) to look comparable to other programs.

Reasonable and historical values are: 72, 96,100, 120, 150, and with the increase in HiRes screens 244, 250, 300

from the command prompt menu, musescore3.exe doesn't open anything. and what am I supposed to do with this "-Dxxx" thing? just tag it on to the end of .exe? if this controls overall scaling, that wouldn't help with the issue of tiny pallet icons, tiny notes in the key signature preferences menu would it? my score is normal size, its just the aforementioned items that are affected.

From the command prompt, you probably need to type the full path:
C:\Program Files\MuseScore3\bin\MuseScore3.exe
Once you figure out that, then you try
C:\Program Files\MuseScore3\bin\MuseScore3.exe -D 200
(or whatever value makes sense for your system). But see my other comments in your other replies - there might be more effective things for your system.
I had the same problem. It was caused by having my macbook connected to a receiver. The receiver also connects a projector that was turned off. Start MuseScore with the HDMI cable unplugged, then plug it back in once the app has started.

I had the Musescore 3 tiny icon issue on my Windows 10 PC. Here is how I fixed the problem:
> Right Click the MuseScore 3 shortcut icon on your Desktop.
> Click "Open file location".
> Right Click "MuseScore3.exe" (this is the program's executable).
> Click "Properties".
> Click the "Compatibility" tab at the top of the window.
Note: I tried using the "Change high DPI settings > check "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by: Application, System, and System (Enhanced)." options, but these did not do anything.
> What I did under the "Compatibility" tab was Clicked the "Run compatibility troubleshooter" and let Windows fix the problem. IT WORKED!!! RESOLVED!!!!

i have found a very quick and dirty fix.
when you go to open musescore, unplug the monitor input cable, then (without moving the mouse) double click. the screen will have no input but the computer will be opening musescore. after about a minute, plug the monitor back in. musescore will be open with normal sized palettes.
