Different note values starting in the same please

Hiya, I'm trying to make the top note stay as a crotchet and the bottom one change to a minim and the note on its own should remain. Is this possible in musescore as I've seen it on sheet music?

I've included a picture named "how it should" of what I'm trying to achieve but its not from the musescore program.
