Tuplet number error
How do I change the 3's to 6's in these sextuplets?
MuseScore notated them this way from MusicXML import from MIDI.

I think you need to rewrite (Check the duration of the original note), see: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/tuplets#instructions

Thanks, but there are a lot of these, and that's a lot of rewrite to correct a simple digit error (3 to 6).
I checked the documentation before posing the question. I would have thought it would be available under "Change display of tuplets" in the inspector.
If that's the only method I'll have to do it the hard way and re-enter them all.

There's no easy way.
press 6 to create a half note then ctrl+6 to turn it into a 6-let rather than two triplets. or press 5 ctrl+6 to create a smaller 6-let then do it again for the second one.

Thanks for the rapid response. I know the input method, having taken the course. I was just looking for a quick way to modify tuplets after the fact, when an import notated them incorrectly.

Unless you are copying a score, it is not necessary to change the 3's to 6's. There are people who believe the 6 should never be used in this case. Musicians will understand that they are played the same way, so it wouldn't matter to me.

I figured most musicians would hardly notice. My DAW, however, did notate them as 6's, which is mathematically the more accurate digit. I don't know if this was a DAW->MusicXML output error, or a MuseScore error.
Thanks again for the rapid response, guys.

Then please attach a small sample musicXML exported from your DAW with such a 6let in it. Someone can then verify if it is MuseScore "reducing" the tuplet upon import or the musicXML already telling musescore it should be a triplet.

Thanks jeetee, but the xml file for this concert band score is huge, and it's tedious trying to find a spot (searching takes forever). I don't care which software is at fault; I was just hoping for a quick fix within MuseScore. There are about 64 patterns that need fixing. I may be able to cut and paste many of them since there's a lot of doubling of parts. I'll just have to grind it out. Thanks anyway.

I'm not asking you to go over this big score and get an excerpt. I'm asking you to create a new project in your DAW with just 1 single instrument. Enter only one 6let and export it to musicXML.

I have been away for 2 weeks and am just getting back to this.
In the test you proposed, the DAW shows a 6let. Musescore imports the XML as a triplet.
I don't see anything in the menus that allows me to change the 3 back to a 6.
XML file attached.

This is a bug that should be fixed in the 3.1 release. See #287883: Sextuplets display as triplet, corruption on copy/paste
