Can you change durations of more than 1 note at a time?
Say you're working on a score and you have a bunch of quarter notes that you want to change into 8th notes. Is there any way to change more than one note at a time? Selecting an entire measure, or group of measures, containing those quarter notes and then selecting the 8th note duration value has no effect.

Hold down Ctrl, click the notes, press the value.

Command on a Mac. That works, but you still have to individually click on each note, which can get tiring. It would be nice if there was some type of selection tool that would let you grab multiple notes in one sweep (like you can on a sequencer).

Right click a note->Select->More->same duration.
But that's going to change them all through the score.

"grab multiple notes in one sweep"
You can: Hold Shift key and click mouse/drag

Hmmm, the mouse dragging step doesn't work for me. I can click on the first note, hold the shift key and click on the last note, and I'll get the whole selection. And I can shift-click and then select multiple notes with the right arrow key. But in either case, hitting the number '4' (to change the quarter notes to 8th notes) has no effect. I'm not sure what I'm missing.

If the goal is to receive say 8 consecutive eighth notes instead 8 quarter notes, better to use the special feature for that. Ie, select let's say the two measures of quarter notes -> Edit -> Copy -> Paste Half Duration (or via the defined shortcuts for that)

Not necessary to click notes. Hold Shift, just click above (or below) the staff, and drag in order to draw a selection frame.
After that, click "Notes" tab, bottom Inspector panel, and hit the wished value (say 4)

To summarize the two ways explained above of doing things (with two different results - I don't know which one you're looking for precisely, but I guess the second one?), see:

Wow - Cool! Thanks for creating the video! Very helpful.

Yes ... thanks.
The methods described here assume you want to shorten the notes but still have the rhythm the same - each note still on the same beat as it was originally. If the goal is actually to make the whole passage twice as fast, forget everything said here and instead select the passage, cut, then Edit / Paste Half Duration.

" select the passage, cut, then Edit / Paste Half Duration"
Yep. I wasn't aware it worked too with Cut first. Good to know :)
Thanks.

I don't see this under Edit. Is this a new feature in Musescore 3? I'm using 2.3.2.

Indeed, this is a new feature in version 3 (currently 3.3.4)

It was introduced in MuseScore 3.1.
