I can download Musecore 3 but when I open I get a message MAC cannot verify the software. I'm on Mac OS 10.15. Any ideas?

Mac text is “MuseScore 3.3 Release Candidate 3” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software.

If the message says "Release Candidate", though, that's not the right version. That was a pre-release that came out a week or so before the actual 3.3.. So I recommend re-downloading the current version and being sure to install that, not the version from a week or two ago.

As answered here, you may try right-clicking the package and selecting "Open", this should give you an option to bypass this check.

It seems that new security policies require applications be somehow verified by Apple, but until this issue is not resolved for MuseScore this workaround seems to be necessary.

neither re-loading nor right click help. The full message I get is: “MuseScore 3.3” can’t be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated. Contact the developer for more information.

Safari downloaded this file today at 08:35 from cdn.jsdelivr.net.

I can 'continue' and ignore the message and it seems to carry on and let me in . So not ideal, but seems to work. Perhaps something to work on later. Thanks for your help gentlemen. Now to music!
