Palettes Suddenly Empty in New Version
Hi,
my Palettes Tab wa suddenly empty (see screenshot attached). Hard to work so. Please help! I've tried to un- and reinstall Musescore with the Ubuntu Software Center, restart Musescore & Ubuntu, new projects, apt update.
Then I tried the following, in the hope to remove some faulty configs: uninstall with software center, install with apt, now I have the palettes tab, but can not open the project, due to "This score was saved using a newer version of MuseScore." message.
So then sudo apt-get purge MuseScore and reinstall with the Ubuntu Software Center and the problem persists.
So I am out of ideas.
Musescore "About":
OS: Ubuntu Core 18, Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (64-bit): 3.3.4., revision: 7684abe
Happy to provide any other details you need.
Thx,
Philip

Instead of reinstalling did you try: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/revert-factory-settings
and restart the computer?
See: #296082: Palettes completely invisible and unusable in Ubuntu 18.04, using AppImage

Wow - Thanks to your fast reply!
Now I did (before only factory reset) – did not change anything.
Then I saw musescore is mscore in the terminal, so I did apt-get purge mscore restartet, reinstalled and did not change anything.

Did you try the latest nightly build https://musescore.org/en/download#Development-builds ?
Edit: sudo apt-get autoclean ?

I'm glad you solved it.

If you still have the current version (not the nightly)...
Were you able to access the choices here:

Have uninstalled it, however I tried this and it did not work.
Is it a distribution package? If so check also if it works with the actual AppImage of the stable version (https://musescore.org/en/download).
Maybe the reason for the distribution package on Ubuntu could be a missing Qt-library there (https://musescore.org/en/node/296082#comment-956625)?
