Tying notes between measures doesn't work
Tying two notes together between measures causes the creation of an extra beat within this measure.
In the next measure an invisible note is added which cannot be deleted unless the measure is cleared.
This appears to be a problem only occuring in one particular project, so I might have activated a feature I didn't want to activate.

This still doesn't work and the note input method doesn't affect the problem

It's just weird because tying chords together works but single notes doesn't
Could be you accidentally enable Insert mode. If not - if the note input icon at left of the toolbar is the usual "N" - then please attach your score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem.
Hmm, could also be you enabled the experimental feature to allow note values across measure boundaries - see Format / Style / General / Score.
