Newby - More than one chord per bar

• Mar 31, 2020 - 10:40

Hi all,

I am new to MuseScore. I am creating a score that is at 4/4. I want to know how to enter more than one chord per bar. Your help is much appreciated,

Jack

Thanks for your reply. I have a feeling it may have something to do with the 'measures' which I am learning about. But essentially I'm trying to insert a chord on the 1st beat and 3rd beat in each bar. Currently I am only able to insert one chord in each bar on only the 1st beat

Assuming you mean chord symbols, just press Space after entering the first, it auto moves one beat forward. So press it twice to move from beat 1 to 3. Also semicolon does this. The difference is semicolon always moves to the next beat, Space will stop on each note, so if there are sixteenths notes, iit moves only that far on each press.

for exemple, if you want to enter , in a 4/4 measure, 2 chords (notes chords) like C-E-G on the firts beat, and C-F-A on the 3rd : first choose the duration, 1 time or 2 times. I suppose 1 time, so tape 5 or choose the quater note figure, click the measure, Tape "N" to enter in "input note" enter your first note : C . Tape 0 (zéro) the cursor is on the 3rd beat, enter the first note of your 2nd chord : F . If you stop here (tape N) you get a measure with 2 notes , 1 on beat 1 and 1 on beat 3 . Click the first, tape N, the C becomes blue you can enter 1...2....3....how many you want of notes . When done, go to 3rd beat enter how many notes you want , in the 2nd chord . When finish, tape N
