How to write left hand notes in treble clef

• Apr 12, 2016 - 12:43

I wish to place the E and G notes for the left hand in the treble clef without the extra ledger lines or adding the treble sign in the bass clef. I have studied the instructions for adding a second voice (the way to accomplish this???) but am not successful. Can someone enlighten me? Attached is the measure. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Thank you, Jojo-Schmitz. The attached now looks like the way I want it to look (i.e., without having the beams) even though I followed those directions. I don't recall what I did to get this desired (beamless) look -- even though I followed the instructions for the beam look. Perhaps a lucky try??? Thanks again!

There are beams, they just don't connect each beat. That's because the default beaming in 3/4 never connects beats. Do the same thing in 4/4 and you'll find beats 1 & 2 combined on a single beam, also beats 3 & 4. You can also change the beaming in 3/4 as described in the Handbook under "Beam" and "Time signature".
