Edit mode of a note should be indicated more clearly. I suggest either a box around the note or little arrows at the head or whatever. So when you double click the head of a note arrows could appear at the note showing that you can use the cursor keys to move the note.

When I first accidentically double clicked on a note I thought musescore behaved somehow weirdly afterwards. Clicking on a different note did not highlight that note. Now I learned that I entered Edit mode by chance.

I'd suggest the same could apply to most elements - articulations, time signatures, etc. Basically, any element that does not already provide special visual feedback in the form of grips/handles (eg, lines, beams, tuplets) or a cursor (text).

I wonder, could it be as simple as just making the default number of grips in elements.h 1 instead of 0? Probably not...

Terrific! And welcome. :-)
