is pdf translation still available

• Apr 29, 2016 - 16:01

I have tried using you Import pdf translation option on several pdf files. It has been several weeks and I have not received any xml files in my email. Does this capability still exist? Is the musescore website still active? I have sent emails with these questions to support and have not received any responses. Is anyone home?

Did you try just visiting the site to see if it shows as successful or unsuccessful (or indeed shows at all)? Go to musescore.com/import and you should see the list of scores you have attempted to process, with an indication of the success or failure (and a link to download if successful). I've never paid attention to whether or not I also got an email, so I couldn't say if that works or not. But the site itself should be working fine. I just tried it and it succeeded within minutes.

EDIT: and the email arrived as well, but not over an hour later. Perhaps in your case it went to your spam folder, or maybe the email system wasn't working that day. In any case, definitely check the site itself, and if it's not there for whatever reaosn, just try again.

Marc,
Thank you. Now when I import the pdf on the page https://musescore.com/import I immediately see the file queued for conversion. That didn't happen the first time I tried this process. And yes, within a few minutes the file was converted and ready for download. I still have not seen the file appear in my email, but as the site says, 'this is an experimental process' so maybe the email route is not being employed these days. Anyway, thanks, all seems to be working fine.

Iasconic,
Yes I did get the email notifying me that the translation was complete and providing a link to your import page where the new files were located. It looks like all works just fine. I don't know what my earlier problem was. I used the same files for translation this time compared to last, but I never saw then come up as queued on the import page. Maybe the website was having temporary problems. Now that I know how it works correctly it will be very useful.
Thanks to all for your help. This forum is very good.
