Exporting files to .wav files
Hi
I'm trying to record melodies with as close to an 8 second duration as possible. As a score in MuseScore the melodies play for the correct duration, but when I export them into a .wav or .aif file, they extend the duration by several seconds (up to 12 seconds). It's as though they're completing the last measure of the score.
Is there any way to rectify this issue?

there is some added time at the end to let the last sound 'ring' to the end.

Is there any way of manipulating this? It's for a psychological research project, so I need it to stop after 8 seconds. Or do you know of a sound editing program that I can use to cut the ending off the melody?

Definitely—in Audacity (as free as MuseScore is), it's as simple as selecting a section of audio and pressing [Delete].
