Is there way to look/edit hex codes in exported MIDI file?

• Jun 29, 2016 - 00:09

Hi all, sorry if posted in improper topic.
I'd like to import MIDI file from Roland electric digital piano, get hex codes for its specific voices (e.g. complex Piano+Violin voice) and insert such voices in the MuseScore staff, then export result to MIDI and playback it on Roland. As I know MuseScore does not have hex presentation for MIDI file. Is it planned?
Or maybe somebody could tell me examples of appropriate software to do such a "reverse" process?
Thank you very much in advance!

If I understand you correctly, you are looking for software that is generally called a "sequencer" (also occasionally "MIDI editor", and I guess "Digital Audio Workstations" also can provide this functionality). I would do a search for sequencers that run on your particular OS and download one of those. In any case, MuseScore is a notation program, not a sequencer. It imports and exports MIDI but internally does not deal with information in MIDI form but in notation form. They are very different.
