It is not uncommon to see these in predated scores:

AFAIK, you have to manually edit the beams.
If you didn't know, the current convention is to not have those kinds of beams with short stems such as those (Gould recommends only when there is no stem shorter than a sixth interval; Behind Bars page 26).
