Stability of altered text elements upon saving document
Hi, I recently downloaded MuseScore 1.1I created a lead sheet in MuseScore 1.1; after entering chord elements and making all extensions superscript using the Rich Text Editor I then used the select all items macro to attempt to make the chord symbols larger and was successful, but the changes did not show up when I later recalled the file. I proceeded to remove all chord symbols and then used the Edit Text Styles macro to make the desired changes in font size and format; the end result was frustratingly similar to the earlier procedure outlined above. Should I set roots to subscript when making extensions superscript?

By the way, I am using the Windows platform with the XP operating system; I haven't tried this on another computer with Windows 2000 but could do so if that is deemed desirable.
Chord symbols are not treated as ordinary text on MuseScore. Display of chord symbols is controlled by the chord description file specified in style / edit general style / chordnames. See the Chord Names entyr in the handbook for the list of valid choices there. Some of them already superscirpt extentions, so hopefully it will work for you to simply use one of those. If not, though, you'll need to create your own customized version of one of those files if you need a different look. And be aware that any such file won't be on anyone else,s system, so you won't be able to share your scores with others and get the same look.
Btw, if you haven't seen my tutorial son doing lead sheets, you should check it out. Actually, probably best to start with this post describing the new features in 1.1, as it goes into a bit more deail on using the chord description files. The tutorials are references toward the top of the writeup so you can get to them from there:

In reply to Chord symbols are not treated by Marc Sabatella
Mr. Sabatella, your tutorial was indeed helpful, but I found the root of the problem- even though the correct chord change was displayed in text, when I chose the Harmony Properties panel upon right clicking on the still persistently stubborn discrepancy in font display I found the incorrect chord name; once I selected the correct root and chord type, the text corrected itself to the font consistent with the chord font style loaded from the XML file. Thank you so much for your help. Tim Eddy
