dotted and dashed sluts and lines

• Aug 23, 2016 - 14:23

Dotted and dashed slurs are too fine grained to be discernible as discontinuous lines when score and parts are rendered as PDFs then printed.

I don't think there is any way to change the granularity of dots and dashes. Could this be fixed or more options added?

Unfortunately that isn't what I'm looking for. I want to decrease the number of dots/dashes per inch for a given dotted line. The default pitch is too high. When printed on a lazer printer dashed lines look continuous.

And actually I'd say there a general need to have greater control over dashed/dotted lines. For example "cresc. - - - - -" is quite a common notation. Because the widely spaced dashes can't be done other than by means of a system or stave text entry then they don't automatically flow across line breaks. If the dashed line could be enter as a line then it would flow automatically. Yes, I can do this manually, but it's a lot of effort especially when you have linked parts and score to maintain.
