Replacing a piece of music

• Sep 9, 2016 - 16:03

Can anyone help? Wishing to replace a piece of music, I go through the procedures only to be told in this case "The selected file C:\fakepath\.Sonata for violin A maj 2 Allegro.mscz, cannot be uploaded. Only files with the following extensions are allowed: mscz."

Why are the pieces saved on my computer, which I have uploaded originally, mscz, (note the comma) files?
What do I do to change them?

Thanks in advance

"C:\fakepath\.Sonata for violin A maj 2 Allegro.mscz,"
Notice the "." at the the beginning of the filename and the "," at the end, you are trying to upload a backup file. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/file-formats-0#msczcomma.

Note that Windows in its wrong and dangarous default setting hides 'known extensions' from the user, in this case the ".mscz". It also should hide musescore backup files (in Linux and on Mac because of the leading ".", in Windows because of its 'hidden' attribute', at least since MuseScore 2.0.

You usually won't want to uplod such a backup file, as it doesn't contain your last changes.
Only if those are not wanted, you can make use of the backup files, just rename it so it loses the trailing ",", probably it should lose the leading "." and also the 'hidden' Attribute.
