i'M TRYING TO GET A JAZZ LILT TO MY EUROPEAN CONCERTO FORMS AND HOPEFULLY i WILL DISCOVER SOMETHING NEW IN MYSELF! THIS CELLO CONCERTINO IS MY 3RD ATTEMPT AT A SONATA ALLEGRO FORM THAT IS BASICALLY CENTURIES OLD .
MY PRINCIPAL INSTRUMENT IS THE PIANO SO WHERE IS MY BIG VIRTUOSO PIANO CONCERTO.THERE R SO MANY ALREADY I RATHER WRITE FOR THE INSTRUMENTS THAT DONT HAVE A MILLION CONCERTI ALREADY LIKE THE XYLOPHONE.MARIMBAS &VIBRAPHONE WHICH HAS A REALLY TRUE TO LIFE SOUND HERE AT MUSESCORE.
PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS CAN STILL USE MORE CONCERTED WORKS AS WELL AS THE HARPSICHORD WHICH HAS A FEW 20TH CENTURY WORKSLIKE DEFALLA& ROCHBERG'S .i THINK VIOLA WILL BE A REAL CHALLENGE CUZ IT IS EASILY COVERED SO A JAZZ CONCERTO FOR IT IS A GOOD IDEA! lETS HOPE WHENI TAKE SOME COMPOSITION COURSES MY PROFESSORS DONT TELL ME TO THROW OUT ALL MY PRIZED WORK! OH THE 64 MEASURES GOT MESSED UP .COULDNT WRITE PROBLEM HERE WHEN I PRINT IT HOPEFULLY ALL WILL GO RIGHT!

Yes, Messiaen is a big revelation and influence as is Pierre Boulez.. Those gamelan harmonies and Hindu rhythms still seem as new as anything and they are thousands of years old and he pioneered their use in European music in the 1930's.
I’m trying to get a jazz lilt to my European concerto forms and hopefully I will discover something new in myself! This cello concertino is my 3rd attempt at a sonata allegro form that is basically centuries old.
My principal instrument is the piano so where is my big virtuoso piano concerto. There are so many already I rather write for the instruments that dont have a million concerti already like the xylophone. Marimbas & Vibraphone which has a really true to life sound here at MuseScore.
Percussion instruments can still use more concerted works as well as the harpsichord which has a few 20th century workslike de Falla & Rochberg's. I think viola will be a real challenge because it is easily covered so a jazz concerto for it is a good idea! Lets hope wheni take some composition courses my professors don’t tell me to throw out all my prized work! Oh the 64 measures got messed up. Couldn’t write problem here when I print it hopefully all will go right!
