Help on notating

I am a newbie to this notating software. My problem is given below:

Issue #1
I have a 2/4 meter and in which in the first bar there is one count rest and I wan to notate next 1 count note as C(1/2 Count) and D(1/2 Count). How can i do that?

Issue #2

Is there a way to write the chords on the top of the measure as in the attachment?
Like when you see in the attachment, for the 1st bar the chord is C#m and for 2 nd is the same chord and for the 3rd bar its F#m.

please help..

Basic note entry is documented pretty clearly in the handbook, as is entry of chord symbols (aka chord names). See the Help menu or check out the online version via the menu at right here on the web site. Also see the tutorial videos that you can access via the MuseScore Connect window in MuseScore.
