Ties on special endings
Dear Sirs:
Last year (then with Musescore v. 0.9) I posted this question: the first note
of a first ending is tied with the last note of the previous measure.
I also need that the first note of the second ending tied to the last note
before the endings. Of course, all the notes have the same pitch.
The answer then I got, and for a time satisfied me, was to place a slur
from the first note of the second ending and reverse its orientation to the
left. This works well graphically but I want the note effectively tied
that is, the sound prolonged from the first note prior the endings. Seems
that still this cannot be done with Musescore.v. 1.1. Perhaps I don't realize
how do it, but neither in the forum nor in the manual I found more
information.
I will appreciate any help

No, there have been no changes i this area in 1.1. I know there has been talk anout making improvements for 2.0, but I have no idea if anything came of that.

Ah, OK.
Anyway, I imagine that it should not be very difficult to program it.
When the last note of a measure is tied to the first note of the first ending, the process should be repeated automatically (in graphic and sound) with all the endings starting with a note of the same pitch.
Sorry for my anxiety but hope to see this feature in a next version 1.1.x and not in the perhaps vague future 2.0.
For this one could be considered if it is worth the capability to deactivate the tie in an ending where it is not required (ex. from "Properties" of the note, tie or ending). Very sophisticated, don’t you think?
Thanks a lot.

Actually it may not be as easy to program as you think.
This is one area where Finale's playback fails for example (at least up to version 2004 when I stopped upgrading)
If at all possible it is better to copy the bar with the tie in it and begin your first/second endings a bar later.
As regards prtinted notation, the workaround already suggested is what I have used on the rare occasions I've needed to use this.
If play back is your concern, then it would probably be possible to fake it with hidden systems purely used for playback, and which don't appear in the printed version of the score.
Oh, and next stable release version will probably be 1.2 - don't think it is on the feature llist :( - quite rightly the development team are concentrating on getting score display and printout up to scratch before tackling other issues.
