How does using an excerpt work?
How does using an excerpt work? Is it exclusively for printing selected parts, or can I use it to write music for one part of a multi-part composition, and then add it back into the composition as a whole?

It is used exclusively for creating selected parts from a full score.
You can use copy-paste to add an individual part you have been working on into a larger multi-part score.
