Newbie question: Can you print multiple tunes on a single page?
Just downloaded MuseScore but I've (actually my wife has) used Noteworthy Composer for years. She plays in a contra dance band and they play several tunes in a set. She needs to print it so that each tune follows on the same page as the last. Since they can switch from one tune to another at any time, she can't treat the multiple tunes as a single tune.
Each tune needs to start on a new line and have it's own title, key and time signature. With Noteworthy Composer she has to treat each as a separate tune and either physically cut and paste the paper or do the same thing with PDFs (which seems almost as problematic).
Can you do this in MuseScore? I'm trying to learn it. She will also want to import some tunes from PDF. I don't think there's an easy way to get from Noteworthy Composer to MuseScore (except through MIDI).

Looking at section breaks. They may help, but I've got to keep them from forcing a page break and I don't want the bars before the section break to fill the line. Lots to learn.

Actually there is an easy and clean way between NWC and MuseScore, and you want to avoid the PDF road...
* In NWC, save as NWCTxt or use a recent version of NWC (>=2.75) and save as NWC
* Go to http://nwc2musicxml.appspot.com/ and upload the NWC or NWCtxt file
* Press Convert and open the resulting XML file in MuseScore.
* You should see all the notes in MuseScore

You may try to input the notes as if in one large piece; on tune after another. At the beginning of every piece (or indeed in any measure) you can always add time and key signatures, even the same one as in the last piece. Add titles as staff text (make font larger) or tempo text (suitable size and bold already).
Where the line breaks where you want it to break leave that alone, but enter a line break anyway to stabilize the situation. You will have places where the new tune begins in the middle of a line. In this case insert a horizontal frame before the first measure of the new tune. Make the frame larger (handle on the right) until the new tune jumps to the next line (I don't know of a better way to add a frame at the end of a line--even with a section break it does not work). Play with the stretch and the frame size until things look fine to you. Then go down the page one line at a time until you are satisfied.
