Copy/paste line elements and other staff elements

• Jan 17, 2012 - 22:59

Line elements, staff text, and other staff-linked elements don't seem to copy/paste the way one would expect. This creates significant additional work when they are heavily used, e.g. with guitar fret position indicators.

I'd like to vote for this too - I'm just starting to do some orchestral arranging, and it's a real pain to have to input all the dynamics again after copying a line for a new instrument.

And you have my vote too.

Manual and registration indications for organ music would be much simpler.

It is possible to copy dynamics and staff text by selecting the element, copying it, selecting a target note and pasting it.

What would be better IMO though is a dialogue in which you can select what would be copied on paste ie just notes, notes and dynamics everything, etc Finale has this ability and it is extremely useful.

A feature to give us more control over what is copies and pasted wopuld definitely be very welcome. It's been proposed and discussed many time, so hopefully some day.

Meanwhile, though, you might find the specific issue you describe - inputting dynamics on doubled orchestra parts - is much easier if you want to enter the dynamics until after copying the parts. That way, you can enter the dynamic on all parts at once (ctrl-click the appropriate note in each part, then double click the dynamic).

I have sometimes to copy from paper music to musescore, orchestral score... and harpins are often as the same for every part.....
lyrics and some texts (like "solo", "rit"), trill lines, and dynamics (except hairpins) are now copied (nightly MuseScoreNightly-2014-08-20-0909-706762c.7z)
so that would be really great to be able to copy hairpins too ;)

I wrote a French topic if you can understand

I saw, lasconic told me in the french forum .... about the first one...

I then tested late in night... I have just noticed that if the hairpin isn't in the begining of the mesure, and you copy the whole mesure to another part, than the hairpin is anchored to the right note, but is display at the begining of the mesure...
I tested this morning with the same nightly build and it doesn't anymore...... so , why ? magic ?
(computer off and on ?)

to add to several part simultaneously, for now (R23698ee) I don't arrive with the shortcut, but I understood it was in the future.... ;)
