Can one add to a pallette?

Is there a way to edit a pallette? Specifically, what I would like to do would be to add the "hairpin" lines and the crescendo and diminuendo ("cresc." and "dim.") to the dynamics pallette so they would be accessible along with the regular dynamic markings. This would be convenient because then I wouldn't have to have both the Lines and Dynamics pallettes open at the same time. (I am generally working on a laptop, so screen space is at a premium.)
