Tab for Diatonic Fretted Instruments

• Dec 14, 2016 - 18:22

All, I see posts about this in some help requests, but I haven't found an actual feature request. I have a need to write tab for the mountain dulcimer. It has diatonic fretting, and some models have frets in "half" positions to allow for playing in more than one key (e.g., DD-A-D tuning may be played in G via capo). There are also cigar box guitars and probably some other instruments that don't come to mind at the moment that share this fretting scheme.

I apologize if this feature request has already been entered. I don't know how to search specifically for feature requests. Any how-to tips on that would also be welcomed!

Go to the Issue Tracker (see link in menu at right) and do your search there. if nothing relevant shows up, then create an official feature request there - that's better than just a forum post here. Think of the forum more for gathering ideas about *possible* feature requests, then post it officially to the issue tracker once it seems a consensus has been reached on how the feature might look.

I do not want to give you false hopes.
This is an official feature request ; it was missing in the "Isssue Tracker". So, it is gaining visibility, nothing more for now. And for the 3.0: simply because it is the next major known version, no one should know the following, I think!

And it depends also and especially of the person who has implemented the entire MuseScore Tablature section, ie Miwarre. This one being absent since a long time, I am in the uncertainty, knowing that there are other features requests, and other wished improvement regarding the Tabs.

Does anyone know if Miwarre is still part of the MuseScore project, or if other projects have taken him elsewhere (temporarily or permanently?)
Thanks.
