From http://musescore.org/en/node/15346:

Me: I'm writing some choir scores for practice. Sometimes the tenor and the bass, for example, touch in on the same notes and during playback these are then played back twice(?) as loud which causes the song to sound rather weird in my opinion. Is there a way to make them... not sound like that?

lasconic: MuseScore has something if the notes are on the same staff but different voices, but apparently nothing for two notes in different staves. I suggest making a proper feature request in the issue tracker.

Would be nice if it did have something "for two notes in different staves" :)

This is tricky, the current playback is indeed too loud, but on the other hand there should at least be some magnification, the notes are from different staves after all. We probably need further acoustics knowledge to determine how much louder it should be.
