I know that development on ver 1.2 is stopped, but this issue seems to me of some relevance and might be worth some thought.

Steps:

1) With ver. 1.2, open any score
2) Export it to SVG format
3) Open the SVG file(s) with another application able to deal with SVG (I tried Inkscape and Firefox)

Result: All symbols which were font glyphs in MuseScore are not shown (unless mscore-20.ttf is installed in the OS, which might cause collateral effects).

See also this forum post for more details and screen shot.

Note: I checked ver 2.0 and it works correctly: all custom font glyphs are exported as paths and are displayed correctly. At least, I believe it important to understand where the difference is.

SVG export, as some other features in MuseScore 1.2, is broken. As you highlighted MuseScore 2.0 will be better in this regard. Let not look to the past, and go forward. There is a lot of work to do to make MuseScore 2.0 ready for release and releasing a version takes a lot of time and effort (it's not just about compiling it for Mac, Windows, Linux but also promote it everywhere on the web, follow up with the translators, maintainers, writing and translating release notes etc...).
MuseScore 2.0 should be our goal!

I close this issue. I hope it's ok for you.
