Adding transposing instruments.

Hi,

I've been working on a score in A major. Any transposing instruments added in the very beginning act correctly (e.g. the key for a trumpet in B flat is B major which is correct (I hope!!!)). However if I add an instrument to the score once it has already been created the instrument's key signature is C . I have tested this with instruments in B flat, E flat and F and the same behaviour occurs, always in C. In fact, I just tested it with a concert pitch instrument and adding a violin to a score in A, also shows up in C. All the adding was done with concert pitch deselected (selecting it made things worse in a way I don't even understand)

Does anyone know if this is a bug, or am I missing something really obvious. Thanks in advance.

Comments

It is a known bug, but thanks for reporting it anyway.

We are hoping that the dev team will fix this in the 2.0 release, but at present the behaviour is still the same.

Once some of the more drastic issues to do with the 2.0 release have been ironed out, I'm sure they will turn their attention to less important issues like this one :)

The workaround is simply to add the key signature after adding the score. MuseScore 1.X actually thinks each staff might want a different key signature, so also, if you change keys in the middle of your piece, you have to do it for each staff one at a a time. That much at least is already improved in 2.0
